Warren Platner

about this collection
Warren Platner was an American interior designer and architect who is responsible for creating one of the most recognizable furniture collections of the 1960's modernist movement. He worked at the firms of notable mid century designers Eero Saarinen and Kevin Roche on many large projects throughout the 60's, but it was not until 1966, with the reveal of his own furniture designs, that Platner achieved true recognition and greatness. This collection, which is still highly produced today by Knoll featured the use of curved steel wires to form chairs, ottomans and tables. It is said that his inspiration was to create furniture that resembled a "shiny sheaf of wheat." In 1985, Warren Platner was inducted into Interior Design Magazines Hall of Fame. His designs will continue to live on in our homes for years to come, because true genius will never go out of style.
